We started out the day by running the annual Waterloo Classic - a local 3K, 5K, and 10 K race. Norah and Doug ran the 5K and I muddled through the 10K. As Doug reported it, "Norah beat me by a stroller's length." And amazingly, she didn't even break a sweat! After the race we went to brunch with our friend Natalia. Norah and I then gave Doug his Father's Day gifts and then we went to Best Buy. Doug decided it was time Norah finally got the big screen TV she'd been coveting for months. My favourite comment about the TV: "If that's what they got Norah for her 1st birthday, I can't wait to see what she gets for her 2nd!"
Because it was Father's Day AND Norah's birthday, AND my Mom couldn't come this weekend, we decide to have Norah's party the following weekend. But, we still wanted to acknowledge it among the 3 of us. So, we put a candle in her favourite food - fruit cup. At first she was intrigued by the flaming fruit cup, but by the end, she just wanted the damn fruit and got a little testy. As you can see, she's not lost her 'tude!
